IWP Students Receive the Prestigious Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship

Three Institute of World Politics students were awarded the prestigious Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship in 2022.

Established in 2017 through a generous $1 million gift by Louis DeJoy and Amb. Aldona Woś, this scholarship will be available to exemplary IWP students up to 2027. The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship provides up to full tuition per semester for recent college graduates who demonstrate significant academic, professional, or personal achievement, as well as a history of leadership and an overall potential to succeed in IWP’s rigorous course of study.

DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation Supports the 2022 Winston-Salem Open

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation proudly sponsored the 2022 Winston-Salem Open, a men’s professional tennis tournament played on the ATP Tour at Wake Forest University. This year’s singles winner was Adrian Mannarino, the first French champion in the tournament’s history. Mannarino, 34 years old, is also the oldest champion in the tournament’s history.

The Winston-Salem Open is a charitable non-profit whose proceeds benefit many in the local community.  The primary charitable partner is the Winston-Salem / Forsyth County Schools middle school athletic programs.  The Winston-Salem Open proceeds helped bring back cross country programs and expand tennis to all of the middle schools in Forsyth County.

DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation Makes $2,000,000 Leadership Pledge to Support the Victims of Communism Museum

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation made a $2,000,000 leadership pledge to support the Victims of Communism Museum in Washington, DC, which hosted its grand opening on June 8, 2022.

The new museum will serve as the free world’s central hub for the remembrance of the more than 100 million people who suffered and died under communist ideology, and the more than 1.5 billion people still living under totalitarian regimes.

Ambassador Woś and Mr. DeJoy have been key allies and supporters of VOC since 2006 with Ambassador Woś serving on its board since 2009.

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation was a Ruby Sponsor for the 2022 Greensboro Science Center’s “Wings & Wild Things” event held on May 12, 2022, which raised over $102,000.

Over 350 guests previewed the new Cole Family Monarch Conservation Center and Butterfly House, as well as the Amazing Butterflies maze. Both attractions are now open to the public.
