Eastern Music Festival (EMF) thanks the Louis DeJoy and Aldona Wos Family Foundation and other foundations, businesses, corporations and individuals for their 2018 sponsorship generosity. Each year EMF partners with sponsors to raise over $1 million of their $2.29 million annual budget to present the Festival.
Because of their generous sponsors, EMF is able to bring in world-class guest artists. This year’s guest artist roster has included Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Anne Akiko Meyers, Micha Dichter, Kun-Woo Paik and Stefan Jackiw.
North Carolina business leader Louis DeJoy and his wife Dr. Aldona Wos are providing scholarship funding of $100,000 per year over the next five years to enable students attending school in North Carolina and Estonia to attend summer academic internship programs organized by The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) and held in Washington, D.C.
Louis DeJoy and Dr. Aldona Wos continue their support of Duke University with a 5-year pledge to the School of Law, to be directed to the David F. Levi Law and Judicial Studies Endowment Fund. The fund establishes a distinguished professorship in law and judicial studies and the directorship of the Bolch Judicial Institute in honor of Levi, the James B. Duke and Benjamin N. Duke Dean of the School of Law for the past 11 years.
Earlier this year the Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Wos Family Foundation granted Eastern Music Festival $20,000 in scholarship funding for North Carolina musicians.
This gift is presented in recognition of Eastern Music Festival’s long-standing commitment to educational and performing excellence. This gift promotes EMF’s commitment to educating young musicians in North Carolina.
The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Wos Family Foundation has pledged a five year annual gift to support the TFAS 50th Anniversary Liberty + Leadership Campaign which provides scholarships for students attending TFAS programs in Washington, D.C. The annual support will be prioritized for students from North Carolina with financial need, as well as a full scholarship to a student from Estonia.
Scholarship Funding Designated to Assist up to Twelve North Carolina Students in 2018
GREENSBORO – Eastern Music Festival is honored to announce receipt of $20,000 in scholarship funding from the Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Wos Family Foundation. This generous donation will provide scholarship assistance for up to TWELVE North Carolina musicians between the ages of 14 and 23 studying at Eastern Music Festival this summer.
The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation has provided the Institute of World Politics (IWP) with a gift to support the matching of a $1 million challenge grant that was awarded to IWP by the American Institute of Polish Culture (AIPC) to establish the Kościuszko Chair as a permanent professorship and program at the school.
Business and civic leader Louis DeJoy was inducted into Junior Achievement of the Triad’s Business Leaders Hall of Fame on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center. The Business Leaders Hall of Fame inductees are visionary businessmen and women who are recognized and honored for shaping the Piedmont Triad North Carolina economic landscape. View the video.
The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Wos Family Foundation is proud to provide funding to the Patriot Foundation, which focuses primarily on helping the children and spouses of servicemen and women that have been killed, wounded, and injured in the Global War on Terrorism. Supporting the Patriot Foundation has a high positive impact on family morale.
The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Wos Family Foundation has once again sponsored the Wyndham Championship’s Wednesday Pro-Am, marking the family’s tenth year of sponsoring the event. DeJoy began sponsoring the Wednesday Pro-Am in 2008 when he was Chairman and CEO of New Breed Logistics, and in 2015 continued the sponsorship through the family foundation.
