The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation was proud to be a Silver Sponsor of the 9th annual Kentucky Derby Classic which was held on May 6, 2023. The event raised over $351,000.

Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. They seek to bring every eligible child’s wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness.

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation was proud to be a Diamond Sponsor for the 20th Annual Greensboro Oyster Roast held on April 28, 2023. The Oyster Roast is the primary annual fundraising event for Family Service of the Piedmont.

Family Service of the Piedmont serves more than 18,000 local children and adults each year, addressing issues of domestic violence, child abuse, mental health and financial stability.

Founded in 1881, the American Red Cross provides support to those affected by disasters in the United States, provides support for members of the military and their families, collects, processes and distributes blood, provides health and safety education and training, and provides international relief and development.

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation continued their support of Junior Achievement of the Triad by sponsoring the 43rd Annual Business Leaders Hall of Fame held January 24, 2023. Junior Achievement of the Triad’s Business Leaders Hall of Fame is an event to recognize and honor the professional accomplishments of visionary businessmen and women who have shaped the Triad’s economic landscape.

The 2023 event inducted Ursula Dudley Oglesby into the Business Leaders Hall of Fame. The annual event has been conducted since 1980.

In 2018, Louis DeJoy was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Miriam P. Brenner Children’s Museum Receives Major Gift From The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Wos Family Foundation In Support Of Building For Tomorrow Capital Campaign

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation supported The Miriam P. Brenner Children’s Museum through a $125,000 pledge commitment towards its current capital campaign effort, “Building for Tomorrow”. The donation will be used to fund a makeover of the Museum’s Post Office Exhibit.

The “Building for Tomorrow” campaign was launched in late 2021 with the Goal of raising $2.05MM to support investments in critical facility infrastructure and exhibit improvements. The Campaign is currently at over 90% of its goal.

MBCM, located in the cultural district of downtown Greensboro, is a 37,000-square-foot facility, with more than 20 permanent exhibitions devoted to experimental learning. Children learn from hands-on activities that contribute to their growth, play, creation, and exploration. The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation was a “Founding Friend Sponsor” of the Supreme Court Historical Society and the Historic DACOR Bacon House event, which was held on November 16, 2022. The dinner event featured patriotic philanthropist, author, speaker, and television host, David M. Rubenstein who moderated a discussion with Marshall biographer, Fromm Professor of International Law, Joel Richard Paul, and Former U.S. Solicitor General, The Honorable Theodore B. Olson.

The Friends of the Historic DACOR Bacon House was established in 2021 to support the preservation of a singularly unique house – not only a respected center for the study and furtherance of American diplomacy, but a monument to a close and continuing connection to the Supreme Court. Originally built in 1825, the DACOR Bacon House is an outstanding example of Federal period architecture, one of only a few in the President’s Neighborhood.

Well-Spring Solutions offers adult day care for older adults with dementia, providing not only its participants with socialization, cognitive stimulation and a safe, secure setting, but also much-needed breaks for family caregivers. IWP Students Receive the Prestigious Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship

Three Institute of World Politics students were awarded the prestigious Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship in 2022.

Established in 2017 through a generous $1 million gift by Louis DeJoy and Amb. Aldona Woś, this scholarship will be available to exemplary IWP students up to 2027. The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship provides up to full tuition per semester for recent college graduates who demonstrate significant academic, professional, or personal achievement, as well as a history of leadership and an overall potential to succeed in IWP’s rigorous course of study.
