The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation proudly supports the American Red Cross and its lifesaving humanitarian mission.
The Foundation was a Premier Patron Sponsor for the 65th International Red Cross Ball held at The Breakers Palm Beach, Florida. In 2025, the Foundation was a Benefactor Sponsor and in 2023 a Grand Patron Sponsor for the event. Considered a highlight of the Palm Beach social season, the International Red Cross Ball brings together ambassadors, foreign diplomats and international philanthropists from around the world in support of the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross. The 62nd Ball marked the event’s grand return after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic and raised nearly $1.5 million while hosting a record-breaking number of ambassadors attending more than 40 foreign ambassadors and dignitaries representing nearly every continent.
Hurricane Helene Relief: In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which devastated communities across western North Carolina in late September 2024, the DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation made major contributions to the American Red Cross and other relief organizations including Samaritan’s Purse, the Grandfather Community Foundation, Inc., and St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Linville, NC. These donations supported the tireless efforts to help individuals and affected communities recover from this catastrophic storm, which caused devastating flash flooding, infrastructure damage, power and water loss, and widespread destruction of homes and buildings.
Founded in 1881 by Clara Barton, the American Red Cross is one of America’s most trusted humanitarian organizations. The Red Cross:
- Provides disaster relief to those affected by disasters in the United States—responding to approximately 60,000 disasters annually, from home fires to hurricanes
- Supports military families through its 24/7 Hero Care Network, connecting deployed service members with loved ones during emergencies and providing support to veterans and their families—a mission spanning more than 140 years
- Supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood through its network of donors, helping ensure hospitals have the blood products needed for surgeries, trauma care and treatment of chronic conditions
- Teaches lifesaving skills through health and safety education, including first aid, CPR and water safety training to millions of people each year
- Provides international humanitarian aid supporting relief efforts during global disasters and crises
In 2024, the Red Cross responded to the nation’s second-highest number of billion-dollar disasters ever recorded, serving meals that nearly tripled the five-year average as the climate crisis intensified demand for relief services.
