Wyndham Championship

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation is a long-time sponsor of the PGA TOUR’s Wyndham Championship. Founded in 1938 as the Greater Greensboro Open, the Wyndham Championship is contested annually on the legendary Donald Ross-designed course at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. As the seventh-oldest event on the PGA TOUR (excluding the Majors), it is North Carolina’s oldest professional golf event and carries a rich legacy—19 of its former champions are members of the World Golf Hall of Fame, including Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Gary Player and Seve Ballesteros.

The tournament serves as the final event of the PGA TOUR regular season, determining the 70 players who qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs and impacting the $40 million Comcast Business Tour Top 10 bonus program. This pivotal position on the schedule creates compelling drama as players compete to secure their spots in the postseason.

The 2025 Wyndham Championship marked the 86th renewal of this historic event. Cameron Young captured his first career PGA TOUR victory with a commanding six-shot win, becoming the 1,000th unique player to win a recognized PGA TOUR event. The Foundation continued its significant support through sponsorship of The Louis DeJoy & Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Wednesday Pro-Am, where participants golf alongside PGA TOUR players. The family’s support of the Wyndham Championship began in 2008 when Louis DeJoy was Chairman and CEO of New Breed Logistics, and the Foundation has continued that commitment since 2015. Louis DeJoy has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the PGA Wyndham Championship since 2011 and served as Honorary Chairman of the 72nd annual tournament.

The Wyndham Championship’s focus on inspiring the next generation through education and supporting community development aligns closely with the initiatives of the DeJoy-Wos Family Foundation. Through its “Wyndham Championship FORE! Good” philanthropic platform, the tournament creates significant charitable impact throughout the Piedmont Triad, including support for First Tee – Central Carolina and backpack programs that provide nutritious meals to food-insecure children in the region.

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation continues its ongoing support of the tournament by sponsoring The Louis DeJoy & Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Wednesday Pro-Am event.
