The prestigious Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship has been awarded to one Institute of World Politics student in 2024-25: Amandalynne Davis.
Established in 2017 through a generous $1 million gift by Louis DeJoy and Amb. Aldona Woś, this scholarship will be available to exemplary IWP students up to 2027. The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship provides up to full tuition per semester for recent college graduates who demonstrate significant academic, professional, or personal achievement, as well as a history of leadership and an overall potential to succeed in IWP’s rigorous course of study.
The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation was a Benefactor Sponsor for the 64th International Red Cross Ball held on January 10, 2025 in Palm Beach, FL.
Founded in 1881, the American Red Cross provides support to those affected by disasters in the United States, provides support for members of the military and their families, collects, processes and distributes blood, provides health and safety education and training, and provides international relief and development.
The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation made major contributions to Samaritan’s Purse, the American Red Cross, the Grandfather Community Foundation, Inc., and St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Linville, NC to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts in North Carolina. Hurricane Helene devastated areas in western North Carolina in late September, causing horrific flash flooding, damage to roads, fallen trees, loss of power and water, and the destruction of homes, buildings, and infrastructure. These organizations are working tirelessly to help individuals and affected communities recover from this catastrophic storm.
The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation was proud to be the Founder Sponsor for IWP’s 2024 Gala. The event was held at the Library of Congress on October 9, 2024. The IWP community, including students, alumni, trustees, advisors, faculty, and supporters gathered to celebrate IWP’s intelligence programs. The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation was proud to be the Presenting Sponsor, for the Greensboro Police Foundation’s “The Blue Salute.” The event was held at Piedmont Hall on October 3, 2024. Funds raised will go a long way toward supporting the many initiatives in the areas of police training, equipment, and technology; officer well-being and recognition; and community partnerships and advocacy.
The event featured exhibits and demonstrations of cutting-edge police technology and equipment.
The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation was a Platinum Sponsor for the 2024 Greensboro Science Center’s “See to Believe” Gala held on September 6, 2024. The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation has continually supported the Gala since 2014.
The Gala is an annual fundraising event supporting the Greensboro Science Center. Guests are invited to experience the wonders of our world, from the majesty of an underwater oasis, to an exciting atmosphere full of lively lights and colors.

The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation proudly sponsored the 2024 Winston-Salem Open, a men’s professional tennis tournament played on the ATP Tour at Wake Forest University. This year’s singles winner was Lorenzo Sonego who became just the 11th active player to have won a title on outdoor hard, indoor hard, clay and grass courts.
The Winston-Salem Open is a charitable non-profit whose proceeds benefit many in the local community. The primary charitable partner is the Winston-Salem / Forsyth County Schools middle school athletic programs. The Winston-Salem Open proceeds helped bring back cross country programs and expand tennis to all of the middle schools in Forsyth County.
The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation proudly sponsored the Wyndham Championship and Wednesday Pro-Am for the seventeenth consecutive year. The Foundation proudly sponsors The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation Wednesday Pro-Am where you golf alongside a PGA TOUR player. This year’s Wyndham Championship winner was Aaron Rai.
The DEJOY\WOS Family Foundation awarded scholarships to students with ties to North Carolina and Estonia, with priority given to students with financial need. The DeJoy-Woś Scholarship program has been funded for 19 years by the DeJoy-Woś Family Foundation. This year marks the second year of a new gift of $500,000 to be distributed over five years.
